A rejection is a lesson

When a check stops a change, the engineer does not get an error code. They get what the rule is, why it exists, what the failure looks like in the wild, and the reference article that covers it — attached to the change they were actually trying to make.

Skill decides what applies

Each engineer has a demonstrated level, and the level gates what they can apply without a second pair of eyes. Somebody in their first week is useful from day one and cannot take a client off the air. That is a hiring argument as much as a safety one.

Training questions

A first-week junior can compose and submit changes safely because they cannot apply the risky ones alone, which is what makes them useful from day one rather than after three months of shadowing.
